Bret #20

Hi Bret!

Greetings from Olympia, Washington! I received envelope #20 from John Doonrnbos in Denver a few weeks back, and wow, what a wonderful thing you and your family are doing. I am honored to have the envelope now and will pass it on to my mother-in-law whom works at St. Peter's hospital. I have contributed 4 dollars, one for my husband, myself and our two dogs :) I am spreading the word of your kind act in Washington State with hope that more people will contribute and think of one another.

Thank you for leading this cause. My family and I feel honored to be part of something so special. Good luck to you and your family!

Bret #46

Hi there!
I was handed #46 by one of your family members (an older son, I believe) at the science museum in Buffalo, NY last Friday. That day my daughter (5 years old) and I brought a friend (6 years old) to visit the museum who suffers from severe eczema. It's very apparent that he is "different", but he's a bright ray of sunshine and it doesn't bother him to be in public. I gave him the dollar so he could save it or spend it as he saw fit.
There is more to this story that makes your gift more meaningful to me. The boy is one of four ranging in ages from three to nine. He has two older brothers and a younger sister. My husband and I were watching the kids that day because their Father had to work and their Mother is undergoing serious treatment for stage four breast cancer and can't care for the children.
My husband took the two older boys and my son to an air show that day. The younger boy, due to his medical issues, can't be outside for very long so that is why we went to the science museum.
This family is very close to my heart. The Mother is trying her best to stay positive for her children, but her illness definitely is taking it's toll on her. Even though they are a proud and very private family, any kind of help is needed and appreciated. Thank you for your gift, I'm sure you made a little boy very happy.
Sincerely,
Robin ErwinBuffalo, New York

Bret Sr. # 1

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I received one of the $1 envelopes from Brett Sr. a week ago in Denver. I was having lunch on a day after that and told my friends your story. They all put in a dollar, so $9 were in the envelope which traveled to Louisiana. I forgot the envelope was in my purse. Today, at church, St. Peter's in Covington, LA, a missionary from South Africa spoke about the mission there. He told of the friendly Zulu people who have not much in the ways of worldly things, but are eager to learn about Christianity. When I reached into my purse to give a donation, I found the envelope. I wanted you to know that along with my donation went your $1 + the $8 from my friends. I commend you for your eagerness and effort to help others in our world. Your idea is very generous and kind. Keep up the good work.

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave

There is hope for our country:

"Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written." -Ether 2:12, The Book of Mormon
